"Blind spot" warning for France
Since the start of 2021, France has required all vehicles weighing over 3,500 kg to be fitted with a blind-spot warning system. You should bear this labelling requirement in mind when travelling through France in your motorhome.
Which stickers are required, and where do I need to stick them?
You must affix a total of three stickers to your motorhome: one on each side of the vehicle and one at the rear.
- A sticker on the left-hand side of the vehicle
- A sticker on the right-hand side of the vehicle
- A sticker on the rear of the vehicle
The stickers alert other road users to restricted visibility around the vehicle and are required by law in France. The ADAC recommends using the official stickers featuring a bus symbol, as these comply with French regulations.
Further information on parking and the current regulations can be found at the ADAC and on the ADAC’s official website: France: Blind spots on motorhomes and lorries
