The load-bearing capacity and thus the durability of a tyre is directly related to the tyre pressure.
Air is a volatile medium that inevitably escapes from tyres. As a rule of thumb, an inflated tyre will lose 0.1 bar of pressure every two months. To avoid damage or burst tyres, check the tyre pressure regularly before driving or every two weeks. The tyre pressure values (see operating instructions) apply to loaded vehicles with cold tyres.
The pressure is higher on warm tyres than on cold tyres. The correct pressure must therefore be checked when the tyres are cold.
Incorrect tyre pressure causes excessive wear or overheating of the tyres and can damage the tyres or even cause them to burst. The vehicle can get out of control.
The tyre pressure is given in bar. The tyre pressure tolerance is +/- 0.05 bar. Only use valves that are approved for the specified tyre pressure. Special valves are required above 4.75 bar.
Only the tyre pressure values in the operating instructions apply, even if the manufacturer of the base vehicle specifies other values.
